The Role Of Technology In Children's Education

All educators, administrators, experts, parents, children and scientists agree that technology should be used in learning-teaching environments in order to realize quality, effective and permanent learning. The main objective of educational technology is to provide learning effectively and permanently.
The 21st Century is in a very rapid progress in the field of technology and information age. Every day, a new technological development comes to the fore and the use of technology has become indispensable for people. Rapid advances in technology in the world and in Turkey, it reflects on the education system and also affects teaching and learning activities.

The opportunities provided by the technology especially in the field of education have improved significantly. The rapid advancement of educational technology in recent years has led to the use of computers in education. It is a fact that the visual and auditory support provided by computers will be effective especially in the learning of preschool children. Computer-assisted education to be applied in class or at home by educators and families; When the time, place and appropriate training programs are determined in the best way, it will be possible to talk about the positive effects of children on learning processes.
Papert, (1980) eyi Children to open and close computers, run the program and learn the use of computers in various areas as well as learn to control computers. It is very important that children have positive experiences with computers. With the proper use of computers and the development of appropriate programs, computers will not only go into children's lives but will also affect their social skills and thinking skills.

Papert`s influence on Piaget  The child will learn by itself uğ has led to the argument. In his theory of cognitive development, Jean Piaget focused on the ways in which children suggest that intelligence development is very different from adults. The first step of Piaget's theory is the theory of personal development. In this theory, early childhood learning; It emphasizes that it is thanks to structured programs and environments that provide information to children easily. Piaget explains how much children are open to learning something new, and how they support their growth through the developmental levels of their activities and environments. An important subject in Piaget`s theory is to learn by exploring. According to Piaget's theory, Bayhan and Artan (2005) have an important role in early childhood learning by exploring. Exploring learning raises awareness in individual learning and development. Papert will also learn the simple rules of children with the computer automatically and that the computer will improve their problem-solving abilities and thus learn to learn by children.

Experts indicating that children can be introduced to the computer by an adult under the age of 3-4, they emphasize that computers can be used with the principle of teaching in early childhood. In education and training, computers are a much more effective tool than television. Learning through a structured program should be facilitated and enriched. The fact that the child interacts with the adult at the beginning of the computer is thought to reduce some of the existing negative effects. (Yaşar, 2004).

Early childhood is the period when children are the fastest in development and children are most open to learning. Therefore, the use of technology should support all areas of development of children (cognitive, language, social, motor, and even self-care). The games played must be subject to adult control and children should be kept away from inappropriate games. Objectives and achievements of educators by considering education curricula It is considered that it would be appropriate for them to shape the use of technological tools. The game undoubtedly has a very important place in early childhood development. Children learn to have fun during the game, they find many ways to express themselves, and they have new developmental experiences. From a conceptual point of view, the concepts of play (Play) and game (Play) need to be handled differently. The individual is more imaginative at an early age, rules are set with more loose limits and duration, the rules, tools, theme and players may change within the framework of the approval of the players, more imaginative games with fewer player skills prefers to play. The rules of the advanced age are generally determined by third parties. The framework of rules, tools, theme and players is determined more often by patterns start to enjoy the games. They include struggles and often show the performances of the players or that they can compare themselves with other players, In addition to the fun, the rule of play is often accompanied by tension and ambition. (Başararcı ve Ural, 2009). In this sense of the game, it increases the learning success of the child as a source of important pleasure should take place in the educational environment as a serious opportunity. In computer-aided education, the child sees the computer as a game tool both the computer and enjoy the information provided by the computer is fun. Technology games in today's world, it is one of the most interesting and entertaining game environments for children. Recently, the most interesting ones among these games Nintendo Wii, X-Box, Play Station, such as console games.

Computer-assisted education supports the learning of each child at their own pace, child-centered practice. Different color and graphic features make learning easier by making it easier. Selecting appropriate programs, taking into account the developmental level of each child support the development of children.
