İstanbul Gelişim University Young TEMA Club organized its first event with the motto ‘Intertwined with nature, hand in hand with TEMA’. While the club was established as a kulüp community. last year, it has joined other clubs in our school this year.
Creatures who do not know to dominate nature cannot protect their existence. As human beings begin to understand the importance of searching and discovering their own roots and taking steps in this direction, it is not enough to just sit and watch nature indirectly. Now people want to be more actively involved with nature. Although nature has such a great power over us, human beings seem to exaggerate the job of arranging the environment according to their needs.
Especially the answers of the new generation to the questions about the nature of this situation, the extent of this situation is very clear. Only one-third of children and young people can count five different herb names, and only one in seven can say five bird species. This group of nature, they are very pleasant to tell a story about when asked, they found a moment to tell only 50%. The club, which was founded with this awareness, provided valuable participation of Asst. Prof. Yüksel Barut, Director of the School of Health Sciences, as well as Club Consultant Çağıl Ertürk, valued faculty members of the School of Health Sciences, and 80 students from different departments of the school.
Arboretum is a botanical garden specially designed for this purpose with a wide variety of trees and shrubs and in there Ataturk Arboretum, since its inception, with overseas connections of the plant in Turkey is not even working diligently to be grown here. In addition to this, with arboretum, seed diversification is made very important. The students, who have devoted themselves to nature, began their march at 11:00 am on November 4 to discover all these untouched beauties. He looked at countless varieties of plants he saw along the way. He took pictures of the large lake which centered the Arboretum and plunged nature into the serene beauty of the water. Being in the nature, walking and doing various exercises have many benefits for human. One of these benefits is that it normalizes the nervous system and strengthens the immune system. Calm and long walks in a beautiful nature and various stretching exercises are reported to have very positive effects on the human's spiritual balance. The gray buildings in the city, their incompatibility with each other, the irregular construction, negatively affect the human perception. On the other hand, being in an environment filled with trees in the nature makes you feel much more liberated. Here, the chance to perceive everything in three dimensions is of great importance. Being aware of this, the Physiotherapist Çağıl Ertürk led the students to exercise the right exercise for nature. The students performed stretching exercises in the heart of nature and then meditated. As known; Meditation, a scientific mind-resting technique, is a deep healing method and is the most important and most effective tool for reducing stress, stress management, productivity and creativity in our work, school and private life in the current century. Through the Meditation, the students experienced the nature of being able to stay in the moment by leaving the events flowing for a short time. They did not spend their Sunday on TV or computer at home
Thanks to trip, the spirit of unity, which was given by the activity under a common roof, became stronger among the students and socialized among themselves and adapted to the order of nature. Since the excursion was not taken to the Arboretum in any way, they planned the activities they wanted to do in the future by beating the students in the vicinity of the Arboretum. They had a pleasant chat and exhausted the day. They ended the tour with a wish to meet with the beautiful memories in the next event.
