Another First From The School of Health Sciences

Andaç 2019, which is also a pleasing development on behalf of our university, attracted the attention and appreciation of the students. Assist. Prof. Abdullah Yüksel BARUT, Director of the School of Health Sciences of Istanbul Gelisim University and also the Chairman of the Board of Andaç,  addressed the students in Andaç 2019 with the following lines:

“Young Colleagues, You start your career as a spark in this year when you have completed the university undergraduate process which covers a very short but meaningful period of your life; you have the responsibility to serve our country as flames and to advance on the path of contemporary civilization. I'm sure that you will do it. We have accomplished many firsts with you since the year you started education. For example, “the AHPGS accreditation” of your departments, “the 1st National Health Sciences Student Congress (IGUSAGOK 2019)” and “Andaç”. Andaç 2019, a first, is also released on the 100th anniversary of 19 May 1919. I thank you for your efforts and dedication. You have sometimes taught us like a teacher during your education. Because we come from different generations, my suggestion is to remain a student in your life and try to learn constantly. Thus you will learn new things from your children. Adopt the principle of searching the truth, “the command to read”, “the need to search for science, even in China”, questioning everything in your life.”
“Dear Colleagues, evaluate the individuals you encounter in your life with their discourses and actions. Be individuals whose discourse and actions overlap and value individuals who implement it. Do not forget the following statement of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
"Our common duty today is to protect national values, consciousness and the Republic and to protect Çanakkale, the spirit that won the Independence War and to transfer this consciousness to future generations. The Turkish Nation language, culture, history and respectable identity will walk hand in hand with a bright future." May the light you carry in your hand illuminate your path. I wish you success in every stage of your life…”

Istanbul Gelisim University School of Health Sciences Andaç 2019 Board member Nesrin Oguz said in a statement:

“Under the leadership of the Director of the School of Health Sciences of the University, we have made great efforts for the 1st National Health Sciences Student Congress, which we organized for the first time in our university. One day we gathered again for the congress meeting. In this meeting, when we talked about congress studies, our School Director told us about the importance of Andaç. He said that no one has ever made Andaç at our university and he said that if you make Andaç, we will support you until the end. Obviously, I did not fully understand the importance of Andaç at that time. To set an example for us, he showed his university Andaç and opened his page. When we read the writings on his page, we saw the smile and happiness on his face. That's when we began to realize the importance of Andaç. We wanted to start Andaç studies as soon as possible. First of all, we have established an Andaç Board with students from each department. After an agreement with a printing house, we took the examples that the printing house offered to us to the classes and told the students about the importance of Andaç. We were in search of sponsors in order to minimize the cost of Andaç for the students who will graduate. The total number of students participating in Andaç reached 116, but we entered into short-term despair because no company would sponsor such a low number. But we were always in search of sponsors without losing hope. Now, with the participation of 116 students and the support of 11 sponsors, we have released the first Andaç of our University. Maybe even now we can't fully understand how important this is. I'm sure we will understand the importance of this even more years later. Some things may really temporary, but memories live forever. As in our Congress, I gained a lot of knowledge and skills while doing Andaç works. My organizational skills, communication skills and many other skills have improved. I realized that if we really want something to happen, we must first dream and really want it, and once again I learned to be patient. I would like to express my gratitude to our Director Assist. Prof. Abdullah Yüksel BARUT, Assist. Prof. Selva ZEREN, Res. Assist. Aydın Olcay ÖZKAN, all my teachers working at our School, to my fellow students in the Andaç Board, to Murat Ofset Matbaacılık and all sponsoring companies for their support. I wish all undergraduate students health, happiness and success in their future lives.”.
