Prof. Dr. Gülay Tamer attended the international conference organized by the Association of Eurasian Economists
Prof. Dr. Gülay Tamer from Istanbul Gelisim University School of Health Sciences Department of Health Management participated in the congress at Tashkent University of Economics organized by the Eurasian Economists Association and presented her papers on Sustainability in Healthcare and Entrepreneurship and Creativity.
In the congress organized by Eurasian Economists; it is aimed to prepare direct, impartial, reliable reports about countries and sectors, to make scientific publications and to present these works to international organizations and to institutions authorized by countries. Also with conference; the idea of bringing together the academicians and economists working in the Eurasian region countries around the world and preparing the cooperation and solidarity opportunities among themselves has been adopted.
In her “Entrepreneurship and Creativity” paper; she mentioned about her research conducted on secondary school students which is about the evaluation of entrepreneurship tendency in terms of creativity. According to her research, students with a high entrepreneurial tendency have stated that their creativity tendency is also high and this is due to their past creative performance. It is determined that students are self-confident are open to ideas and advice of others, preferring challenging tasks. They are energetic, they have high initiative and they are able to see new opportunities. This research has been selected because it has close ties to the problems of our country, such as rural to urban, limited employment opportunities, shrinking economic opportunities and the social and cultural problems caused by them. Based on the findings of the research, it has been concluded that researches about the effectiveness and developing similar programs strategies in the curriculum can be made in more detail in order to increase the place of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship culture in our country.
Another study conducted by Tamer; aims to increase the social sustainability and service quality of the health services available in the context of the sustainability of health organizations. Based on user-oriented, performance-oriented design capabilities, he conducted research at a private health institution with a large capacity to analyze the current situation and future business plans. As the key partner group, he preferred the patients of his hospital’s non-medical staff and medical staff. The results of the research, in which both qualitative and quantitative methods are used, define the key problems that must be overcome in order for health care institutions to be socially sustainable. Apart from the key priorities for all partner groups, more than 20 different indicators were identified for evaluation. According to the researchers; examples of different studies carried out under similar conditions and comprehensive interviews with hospital users and the criteria and indicators for assessing the social sustainability of hospitals have been put forward. The results, besides the average satisfaction level, also provide the individual answers of the participants. In addition to defining these facts and results, it is also envisaged to establish a basis for further research on the social quality of hospitals at the level of strategic planning.
