 Discovery Of Creativity In Children


The concept of creativity has become an important place not only in education but also in every field of life and in different professions. When creativity is considered as a concept, it should not be understood that the existence of “divine“ from nothing. In various sources, creativity is also called innovation, productivity, contradiction, (different) thinking, originality in various fields of application, but it is also possible to say that these nomenclatures do not actually encompass full creativity.


        It is possible to come across a number of studies that demonstrate and assert that those who hold the key to a more qualified life are mostly creative individuals. Sometimes it is possible to see the creativity of a housewife with the limited budget and different food types she prepares with the same ingredients at home sometimes we read a book, or a piece of music we listen to creativity. It is possible to say that all these things have emerged in different forms than the ordinary ones, and that the quality of life of mankind increases. The key to a better and quality life in every aspect of life is shaped by creative thinking. Individual creativity, which opens new horizons for people, is also very important in bringing people to higher levels in social life. Creativity plays a major role in the successful work of individuals in professional terms. According to Abdullah (1996), societies need creative individuals who have the strategy and ability to produce solutions to social, educational and technological problems. Many complex problems cannot be solved. For this reason, creativity is a key skill that can help shape a better and qualified world. Curiosity and research in an individual being creative is an important feature that supports and develops creativity. Natural curiosity in children can be the basis of their creativity. Learning for creative people and learning new things is fun. On the other hand, being patient, being open to change, believing that all problems can be solved and that every problem can be a solution for a different situation at the same time. and funny, ridiculous or odd and repulsive, even though new ideas can contain creativity. (Harris,1998). In addition, in order to be creative, it is necessary to have an in-depth knowledge on a subject and the ability to transform information into a visual form. (Cannatella, 2004). Preschool years are years when children act independently, do not listen to environmental perceptions and pressures, and entertainment and play are at the center of life. Therefore, in these years, creativity is actually the basis of life.
        Sternberg (2006); six features that should be related to creativity in individuals. These features; mental skills, knowledge, thinking style, personality trait, motivation and environmental factors. Each of these factors is effective in the process of creativity separately. For example, it contributes to the creative thinking of a person's mental ability, that is, his intelligence, on the other hand, enables knowledge to be inspired by existing sources and to make new designs. The meaning of thinking is to have the potential of divergent or divergent. An individual's tendency to take risks, having a personality who does not die, who feels positive, who likes to solve problems, and because of both positive and supportive attitudes in his environment and high motivation of his / her inner structure, he maintains a different thinking structure as motivated by the ideas he produces.
        Herman, who adapted the harmony of the two hemispheres of the brain to education, introduced the notion of brain dominance-dominance as a result of the intensive use of some of the brains of people. According to him, the preferred thought or action differs according to the lobes of the brains. Those who use the left hemisphere of their brains learn by reading, using the right hemisphere to learn and see (Özden,1998). Creativity; a neurophysiologically sound analytical thought is the size of the meta-cognition. That is the highest level of scientific thinking. However, it can be said that these findings are not sufficient as researches on creativity and brain neurology are investigated. Because creativity is a complex way of thinking. Brain research is one of the most ideal information transfer and processing processes. For example; The neurobiologist Kounios (2011) argues that there is no single measure of creativity to define creativity as a human being's ability to reconstruct its understanding of a situation in an unclear way. (Yolcu, 2011). In other words, in order to say that creativity is the result of an excellent brain function, Einstein's creativity ability must be related and linear new propositions should be presented. However, this is not seen as possible. For example, creative attitudes are determined in people with many psycho-traumatic and neurological disorders. The painter Picasso, the Poet Lord Byron, Mozart, Edison and Oscar Wilde have had many creative works. Fitzgerald's research on creativity and neurological structure has identified some disorders when they concentrate on specific properties. Andreasen (2011), who also works with the creative brain, sees the creativity components of the brain as a specific authenticity, benefit and product. For him, creativity starts with the individual, processes it with a cognitive process, ends with a product when the process is solved when the process is resolved or when the work is finished. (Gökçe,2011).
