The Child Development Orientation presentation was conducted for the first and second Grade students of the Department of Child Development (English) at. Gelisim University School of Health Sciences. The presentation was made to the first grade students in B Block 209 in 12.00 and to the second grade students in B Block 105 in class at 15.30. The presentation gave information about the Department of Child Development. It was discussed

Who works with child developmental specialist?, “What is the task of child developmental specialist?, Where do they work? What are the opportunities provided by our university? At the end of the presentation, students' questions were answered.

Who are the Child Developmental specialist?
Child developmental specialists are not preschool teachers, babysitters, specialist child developmentists, special education teachers / experts and pedagogues. Turkey has in the last part of pedagogy graduates in 1982. Child developmental specialist is DEVELOPER and their subject is health.
Child developmental specialist works with child and family.
• Normal development between 0-18 years of age,
•Children with special needs (Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerabral Palsy, Language and Speech Disorder, Mental Displacement, Superior Ability),
•Children in need of protection (living / working in the institution with special needs, pushed to refugee and crime),
• Works with hospitalized children.
• As a result of developmental evaluation and follow-up, they provide families with child-centered family counseling.
Duties of Child Developmental Specialist
• Evaluates the development of children aged 0-18 by using objective criteria.
• Develops and implements early intervention programs for children and their families who are identified as under developmental environmental or biological risk, and follow the process.
• Prepares individual support programs taking into account the development and chronological ages of individuals.
• Provides counseling to parents and teachers about child development.
• Provides maternity education before and after childbirth.
• They provide consultancy for children's publications and toy industry.
• Provides developmental support to the child in hospital-care units. (Child developmentistal specialist working in the hospital can work in the playroom and be able to create child friendly hospital environments by working in the environmental regulations in the hospital.)
Child developmentistal specialists conduct the transdisciplinary study with neurology, audiology and language speech disorders, physical therapy, children's mental health professionals.

Application Courses
The practical courses of Grade 3 students are Training Study 1-2 in Pre-School Education Institutions “and Summer Internship. Training Study 1-2 in Pre-School Education Institutions can be carried out in preschool education institutions, while Summer Practice can be done in hospitals, special education centers and counseling centers.
The 4th year students' practice course is Training Study 1-2 in Child Development. Students can do this training in hospitals, special education centers and counseling centers.
Workshops
Drama workshop is used for Game and Play Materials, Music Education in Children Period, Drama in Education and applications in lessons.
The application workshop is used for applications in Art and Creativity during childhood period.
Istanbul Gelisim University Health Sciences Library
It is located in the Rectorate Building. Throughout the education period, it serves between the hours of 08.30-21.30. The library has a Child Development shelf.
Double Major Facilities
Students have the right to make a double major in the departments of the School of Health Sciences (Nursing, Audiology, Nutrition and Dietetics). However, for this, the student has to be at least 2.72 from GANO 4, have successfully completed all credit courses in the major program, and have not taken any disciplinary action and must have entered the 20% success zone. Students may be admitted at the beginning of the second semester, 3rd grade and at the beginning of the third semester 5th semester at the earliest.
