Professor Dr. İsmail Hakkı Aydın; Professor of medicine, scientist, poet, writer, calligrapher, güftekar. He was born in 1954 in Trabzon. He graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, he completed his residency in Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical School, Department of Neurosurgery. Professor at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the University of Zürich. He completed his microsurgery studies alongside Prof. Dr. Mahmut Gazi Yaşargil. He was appointed to the Chair of Neurosurgery Department of Atatürk University's Faculty of Medicine when he returned to Turkey in 1984. In addition to Switzerland; He researched some studies in Germany, France, England, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Yugoslavia, Canada, USA. and Japan. In 1988; He has developed a new surgical technique that has been used in brain vascular occlusion operations and passed on to the literature with his own name for the first time in the world. He received TUBITAK award in 1990 with this surgical technique. Professor Dr. İsmail Hakkı Aydın has over 200 scientific studies in Turkey and abroad. Apart from the successes of our esteemed professor in medicine and brain surgery; He is interested in poetry, calligraphy, classical Turkish music, cartoon, music philosophy, literature and theology. During our interview; cell, intercellular connections, nanotechnology announced. He particularly focused on the scientific properties of the brain cell that has been discovered and provenso far.
The connections of the cells in the brain with each other were emphasized. Definitions of Science and Learning, and what are their differences? What is the source of science? How the developments in science, the question of why the child and especially the child as a questioning brain structure, but the development of science and the answer to the unknown was discussed. In addition, what is our teacher Gen Science? Chromosomes, genes, genetic mutations, genetically transmitted diseases, Cloning studies of reproductive cells, The number of genes in human, RNA and DNA can change? detailed and updated information on the topics and asking students to ask questions about these topics and learn to do so by motivating them to ask questions. Our teacher; He stated that the expression when the information is loaded, the brain gets tired and the survival develops ”, it is very, very wrong. The brain does not recognize the boundary and area when making this storage. A person can learn and speak multiple languages at the same time, or a person can succeed in more than one and many separate areas. For example; A person can be the best lawyer of the world at the same time, the best engineer of the field. The brain also has room for all this information because the person does not have to limit himself.
After the presentation, the Dear professor answered the questions of the students and the other participants. The last part of the interview was interactive as a question and answer. Our students; various questions were asked about how many cells are in the brain and how they are in relation to each other. İsmail Hakkı Aydın stated that every cell in the brain is in communication with each other. If we take a hundred billion neurons, they stressed that they had two to a hundred billion connections and that they exchanged so much information among themselves. How fast is this information exchange? Sixteen operations divided by ten seconds. So the result is multiplied by itself sixteen times per second. So how do these cells form thoughts? İsmail Hakkı Aydın talked about the studies conducted on this subject with examples. Between each cell there are 19 nanometers width, 90 nanometer lenght tubes and networks, and communication takes place with them. At the end of the interview, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Aydın’s plaque was presented by the Director of the School of Health Sciences Asst. Prof. A. Yüksel Barut.
Thanks for this valuable presentation to Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Aydın.
