The functions of the ear mold are to amplify the sound amplified by the hearing aid to the external ear canal, prevent the acoustic feedback with a good insulation, fix the hearing aid on the ear, change the acoustic properties of the device and ventilate the external ear canal. Stating that a good ear pattern can be achieved by getting good ear marks, Ahmet Ovacik showed the examples of true and false ear prints and reinforced his narrative. He explained how to change the acoustic properties of the hearing aid. Afterwards, he ended his presentation by giving information about the selection criteria of the hearing aid according to the type, degree and configuration of the hearing loss and supporting the expression by audiograms.
The audiologist Aybars Kopca completed the session with his speech about (Hearing Instrument Selection Criteria and Approaches the Patient with Hearing Instrument) incidence of hearing loss in the world and rate of hearing aid use. Factors influencing the selection of hearing aids are age, anatomical structure, physiological structure, type of hearing loss, degree of hearing loss, UCL sensitivity, aesthetic anxiety, economic situation, climate and social life status as listed. He ended his presentation by mentioning the advantages and disadvantages of hearing aid types.
The audiologist Önder Paksoy started to his conversation with “Hearing Instrument Selection Criteria and Approaches to Patient with Hearing Aids”. He said, that hearing aid center must have control device, pneumatic, otoform, hearing aid adjustment and cables, battery meter, audiometer device, hi-pro software and hardware (device programming unit), REM (real ear measurement) device and computer.
Mr. Senol Ozer gave presentation about "Hearing Aid Sector in the World and in Turkey" in the Istanbul Gelişim University Hearing Instruments Symposium. Senol Özer reported that Signia Hearing Instruments donated 3 saplings to the Erzurum Kapikale Memorial Forest via TEMA Foundation on behalf of the Department of Audiology of Istanbul Gelisim University. Senol Özer talked about the incidence of hearing loss in the World and in Turkey, and the number of users remains at a very low level based on this data. The current patent rate is around 10%, while the potential patent rate is around 90%.

After giving information about hearing aid systems such as the FM System and Roger, she showed the software settings for children in the hearing aid programs. Senel, an audiologist who contributed a lot to our students with the information , completed her presentation by emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary team work.
The audiologist Sami Aktas participated in the symposium and gave information about “REM, Fitting and Adaptation” and hearing aid applications. He shared his experiences with the students about the hearing aid objective measurement methods.
The audiologist Hilal Köse offered the solution for tinnitus and for the patient with the this serious health problem by her presentation headed “Current Approaches in Tinnitus”. She concluded her presentation by emphasizing the effectiveness of the neuromodulation method.
